ACTUALLY… the people who created the GIF program pronounce it “jif” like the peanut butter.

Which I hate. I still pronounce it with the hard G, like “gift” or “Gifford.”

So you can pronounce it correctly, or you can willfully pronounce it wrong (like I do). You can break any rule you like, but you must know the rule first. Otherwise you’re no better than a beast, waiting to be shot down and stripped for parts.
